Welcome to a special edition of 'Now What?' with JR 19 Days ago I posted a Note on my Substack Newsletter about a 13 year old girl from Slovenia. who won the Lions International Plakat Miru competition in 2022. 600,000 children from all around the world competed and Anja won! Judging by the response, it really hit a nerve. people are craving human connection. There was an outpouring of astonishment, wonder and praise for the artwork of Anja the 13 year old girl from Slovenia.
The Note below is the original post.

Anja’s artwork shows a person’s arms, holding two knitting needles, and knitting a net. If you look closely at the person’s arms you will see that they depict the world. Enlarge the netting and many people come into view.
Her work of art is literally knitting the world together - one stitch at a time -connecting people together.

Let’s hear what Anja herself had to say about winning.
Anja is standing in her classroom - behind her is a wall of artwork.
Anja made me think of how important it is to remember that we have an impact on each person we come into contact with. That impact creates a ripple which is endless. Imagine if we decided to make a ‘Connection Ripple’
Sometimes our world can seem dark and lonely, but if each of us made the effort to do a Random Act of Kindness and connected with strangers and people we know alike - Imagine what a difference we could make!

Exhibit Translation:
When the 2022 Lions Club Internatioanl set the theme “We are all connected”, the Slovenian - Anja Rozen (then 13 years old) imagined the theme as hands-planet Earth knitting people together and she won….a theme made for O’pleti shop window!
