Close your eyes and get comfortable

Breathe slowly though your nose - 3…2…1…

Breathe slowly out your mouth - 3 …2 …1 …

Repeat 4 times

Keep your eyes closed

Reach for the sky

Stretch high above your head

Wiggle your fingers

Wiggle your toes

Bring your arms slowly around and give yourself a BIG hug

Let your arms fall slowly into your lap

Keeping your eyes closed take a deep breath in and WHOOSH it all out

The Dialogue of the Future - Why Connecting with Humans and Prompting with AI Both Matter Now

This topic is close to my heart, because it sits right at the intersection of everything I care about: human connection, meaningful communication, and the evolving relationship we have with technology.

Let’s begin with a simple truth

  • Communication is changing, but at its core, it’s still about connection, about clarity, being seen, heard, and understood.

The thing is, now we have a new participant in the conversation - AI

And like any new relationship, it requires us to learn how to communicate differently.

So today, I want to explore what I’m calling - two sides of the communication coin.

One side is ancient and deeply human, the way we connect with one another

  • Through presence

  • Eye contact

  • Tone

  • Story

  • Silence

The other is emerging and technical, the way we communicate with AI

  • Through clear instructions

  • Precision

  • Iteration

  • Prompts

They might seem like opposites, but both need to understand and be understood.

So let’s flip this coin and explore both sides together.

Side One: The Human Side of the Coin

  • Let’s start where we all began human-to-human connection

… and now we turn to the other side of the coin

Side Two: The AI Side of the Coin

  • Now let’s talk about this other form of communication that’s quietly becoming more important every day, our communication with artificial intelligence

So, how do we hold both sides of the coin?

We don’t choose one over the other

We lean into our humanness

  • our empathy

  • our intuition

  • our stories

And we embrace our curiosity, our willingness to learn how to communicate with the tools of tomorrow.

Wrap

So as you move through your day, I invite you to notice

  • Where are you craving more connection?

  • With yourself, with others

  • Where are you being called to grow?

  • In how you communicate with AI, or even just how you ask questions

And maybe, just maybe…

  • Try writing one prompt.

  • Try reaching out to one person.

Two sides of the same coin

Two kinds of conversation

Both matter

Both are part of the dialogue of the future
